abstract

in this study, 160 fishes were randomly collected from commercial catch by a cone net in babolsar port from january to october 2010. the biological features of specimens were measured. 2 + years old fishes made the dominant age group with 33.75% and 1 + and 5 + years old had the least frequency (8.75%). relationship between length and weight indicated negative allometric growth pattern (b=2.581). the von-bertalanffy growth parameters were calculated as l ¥ =131.57 mm, k=0.26 and t 0 =-1.02. growth performance index was 1.66 and the total mortality (z), natural (m) and fishing (f) mortality coefficients were 0.9 year, 0.43 and 0.47, respectively. the exploitation ratio (e) was calculated as 0.52.

Study on Some Growth Parameters of Common Kilka (Clupeonella cultriventris) in South Part of Caspian Sea

In this study, the growth parameters of Common Kilka (Clupeonella cultriventris) in the Caspian Sea were studied in one season and, three stations of Babolsar, Bandar Amirabad and Bandar Anzali. A total number of samples, 300 fish were randomly caught by conical nets in the study areas and analyzed. Overall, the average total length of the three stations 11.65 ± 1.17 cm and 9.64 ± 2.58 g total ...

Age and growth of bigeye kilka (Clupeonella grimmi Kessler, 1877) in Iranian waters of the Caspian Sea

Age and growth of Bigeye Kilka, Clupeonella grimmi, were studied in Iranian waters of the Caspian Sea from early May 2006 to April 2007. The sagitta otoliths were removed for each 5 mm length interval up to a total number of 262 fish. Fork length and weight ranged from 92.5 to 142.5 mm and 4.2 g to 23.4 g, respectively. The largest length-groups was observed from December to February and the lo...

Investigation of morphometric variation and differentiation in common kilka (Clupeonella cultriventris) using factor analysis (PCA) and discriminant function analysis (DFA) in southern part of the Caspian Sea

This study was conducted to investigate morphometric variation and differentiation in common kilka (Clupeonella cultriventris) caught from Amir Abad and Babolsar fishing ports during winter 2013. Totally, 330 specimens (272 specimens from Amir Abad port and 58 specimens from Babolsar port) were caught by lift net and 30 absolute morphometric traits, 9 meristic traits, length and gonad, body wei...
